Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: load your animals and return to the land of Canaan [without delay], and get your father and your households and come to me. I will give you the best of the land of Egypt and you will eat the fat (the finest produce) of the land.’ – Genesis 45:17-18
As you look back on your own spiritual journey can you see God’s hand at work in your tough times?
Joseph was a spiritual champion because he suffered unfair treatment from others, yet he did not become bitter and complain. His life and in particular the manner in which he handled undeserved suffering and ill-treatment at the hands of others serves as a great lesson for believer today. His life serves as a great encouragement to those among God’s people who are suffering undeservedly around the world.
If we choose to live like heathen, walk in sin, and clothe ourselves in unrighteousness, we will face God’s judgment. However, if we choose to abstain from sin, walk in the Spirit, live by faith, and clothe ourselves in the righteousness of God – made available to us through the blood of Jesus – we will experience God’s blessing.
