Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand,
Upon the son of man whom You have made strong for Yourself.
Then we shall not turn back from You;
Revive us and we will call on Your name.
Restore us, O Lord God of hosts;
Cause Your face to shine on us [in favor and approval], and we shall be saved. Psalm 80:17-19
Apostasy from God is really an undoing of all the good which we have done. It is ending in the flesh, after we have begun in the Spirit; when our faces have been towards Zion, and our doings framed to turn to God; this is a revoking and disannulling of all, and driving towards hell. Christ, by the matchless efficacy and merit of His blood, hath purchased for us confirming grace, and the perpetual presence of the Spirit with us. Man requires spiritual quickening before he can pray. He must be quickened–with the sense of spiritual needs. Sense of dependence underlies all prayer, all religion, all worship. This sense which, alas! is deadened within us, must be quickened before we can pray. – Biblical Illustrator
If you feel like your faith has veered off course, then you must know that the first wrong turn is always a move away from God. If you wake up one morning and find yourself in a spiritual desert, then you must trace your steps back to where you left God’s path. You have to return to the Lord. All pain that won’t go away is rooted in a failure of faith, and all pleasure flows from unplugging the fountain of joy that’s found only in God.- James MacDonald
As we seek the Lord this week, focus on what do we need to do to experience revival in our personal lives.
1. Return to what is important in your daily life: Put Jesus as first place above all the worldly things in this life. Who is the most important topic in your conversation? Is it Jesus?
2. Restore Life. When you place God above all else, He will give you life that’s filled with power.
3. Rain. Finally when we return to the Lord, He will send His rain of the spirit of God moving in our lives and church.
